Lee & Tan Thomas | 16/12/2006

We have spoken to Craig today & so have Mum & Dad (Brian & Lyn) He was moved from policlinico San Bernardo Hospital in Salta to a Private Hospital 2 blocks away. This is called Sanatorio del Parque. He is in the Adult Therapy Unit. The level of care here seems to be heaps better. Now Craig has asked us to tell everyone is over coming the Malaria. But is now fighting an infection on his leg,he may lose it!!!! (he he he Just joking!!!)
He does not seem to cocerned about this, He thought it was just a type of Eczema. All in all he seems in good spirits. If anyone wants messages passed on please log as a comment on this web site & we will try to pass on, other wise Craig will read them when he is well enough to get web access. Lee & Tan Thomas

Sunday am Australian time, 6pm Saturday Argentinian time. Just spoken to Craig again now and he is omproving considerably. Sounds much brighter this morning, blood levels are improving. Hospital ran out of the drug for 12 hours but back on track now so things are definitely looking up. He is looking forward to getting out of the hospital but no timeframe for that as yet. He is definitely on the mend as noted that the Argentinian nurses defininitely come from good blood stock! Treating his skin problem but seems to be okay.

Hello Anna. Good luck with the baby.

Spoke with Craig this morning Monday 18th aust.time. Is okay, still the high fever/chills episodes at nights, quite good spirits really. I read him some of his emails so that was cool. Looking at possibility of transferring him to a hospital in Buenos Aires so just waiting on information in that regard. Am passing on your messages to him so keep them coming as they are good to receive. Pretty scary stuff tho. Cheers, Lynn

Don'tknow whether we are coming or going. Dec 18th Craig

Lynn & Brian Thomas Says | 20/12/2006

Don’tknow whether we are coming or going. Dec 18th Craig had a negative blood result,Hosp. decided against transfer- 3 days of negative results would mean discharge. Two positive results since. Have asked for reasessment of transfer. Craig is fine in himself but this is not something to mess around with as this particular strain lodges in the brain and liver then cycles out into the blood and then back to the organs. Appears the negative result is when it is in the organs from what we can gather. Probably more expert opinion required.

Still in Salta. Seems fine, have altered medication and hoping

Sat 23 Dec. Unfortunately posted a positive result yesterday so feeling rather bummed out. We just have to all send him heaps of positive thoughts and fingers crossed for the next few days for some negative results so he can get out of what is feeling a bit like “prison”. Merry Christmas to all Craigs friends.

Craigo…. What’s going on!!!!

I told you to stay away from Mozzie’s with hairy nipples, but you didn’t believe me!

Mate sorry to hear that you aren’t so crash hot at the moment. I hope that doctors are able to fix you up and the nurses are there to make you feel better

Thinking of ya, and hope to hear some good news through Lee and Tan in the very near future.
